Three Gratitude Paintings, on the theme of Precious Holiday Memories

The latest is a trio of paintings for my fiancée on themes of Sunsets in Santorini, Rolling Pebbles on a beach, and Sea Glass.

Four Gratitude Paintings, on the theme of Music
'While not considering myself an artist and having little knowledge of art history or techniques, I have always loved finding works of art that resonate for me. This is what happened with Sam Weeks’ ‘Gratitude series’. I was distraught when my favourites sold, until the idea of commissioning more started to grow in my mind. It felt like a wild idea, something only professionals or extremely wealthy people would do, but having saved up to buy some of her artwork, I was thrilled to discover that it isn’t that much more expensive to commission what you want.
Commissioning an artist can be a risk, of course, and I had no real idea what to expect from the four paintings I asked her to create. Thanks to Sam’s insightful questions, willingness to listen to anything I wanted to say, and communication about the process, I felt nothing but excitement. It felt natural to trust her to produce something amazing.
Sam was able to create something whilst holding in her mind the colour palette I had discussed, the colour of the wall where the paintings will soon be mounted, as well as all sorts of personal information to inform the creation of each individual picture. It is really special to look at them and to think of her working so hard to produce something beautiful just for us.
The paintings were a birthday present for my husband,(we are both musicians hence the theme of gratitude for music). He described them as being the most inspiring and nourishing gift he had ever received. Each one is cleverly representative of the themes I came up with: rhythm, harmony, music for healing, music for dancing, but also convey the emotions we feel through listening to music. They look beautiful, energetic, and exciting together.
I would definitely recommend the experience of commissioning an artwork from Sam Weeks.
